Dragons Heads
This project focused on refining and elevating an existing garden, working with key inherited elements to create a more cohesive outcome.
Existing limestone walls were clad and extended to form a new outdoor kitchen and trellis, designed to support white wisteria over time. A mature dragon tree was retained and stabilised with cable supports, becoming a sculptural focal point within the space.
The pool remained, but surrounding planting was completely reworked. Overgrown cottonwoods were removed and replaced with Waterhousia floribunda, opening the space and improving light and scale.
A layered planting palette of Mexican Salvia, Miscanthus, Silver Teaspoons, Blue Chalk Sticks, and Desert Star brings softness, movement, and contrast, tying the garden together with a lighter, more contemporary feel.
