OUR PROCESS

At Yoxall Landscape Architecture, every garden is approached with care, creativity and clarity. We believe that thoughtful design is layered and evolves through collaboration with the client, the site and the people who bring it to life. Whether we are developing a high level concept or supporting a project through to construction, our process is designed to be flexible, personal and responsive to your needs.

Our services typically cover concept and design documentation, with the option to extend into construction support depending on the scope and complexity of the project.

 

CONSULTATION

Each project begins with an initial site consultation to understand your goals, budget and the opportunities and challenges of the site. We will walk through the space, discuss ideas and establish a clear brief to guide the design process. A tailored fee proposal is then prepared outlining the scope and next steps.

Onsite consultation: $300 plus. GST (1 hour) 
Consultation fees are payable on the day. Travel fees may apply for remote sites.

 

CONCEPT DESIGN

The concept phase develops the design vision for your garden or landscape.
This includes:

• A 3D conceptual design to explore form, materiality and spatial flow

• A 2D landscape plan, drawn to scale

• Preliminary planting palettes and direction for key hardscape elements

• Coordination with pool builders or landscapers if required

 

DESIGN DOCUMENTATION

Following concept approval, the design is refined and documented for construction. This stage translates the concept into detailed drawings, plans and selections.

Deliverables may include:

• Dimensioned landscape plans

• Planting plans and schedules

• Surface finishes, material selections and product specifications

• Level coordination and setout drawings

• Typical construction details

These documents are tailored to suit the needs of the project and ensure the landscape can be built accurately and true to intent.

 

CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION (OPTIONAL)

Once the design is complete and construction begins, I offer an optional Contract Administration service to support the delivery of the project on site.

This may include:

• Regular site visits

• Ongoing phone and email support

• Assistance with clarifying design details and adjustments

• Input on variations and material selections

• Hand selection and placement of plant stock

This service is quoted per project depending on complexity and scope. Travel time and expenses are additional.
